Michelin Hi-Lite Tour 27 1 3/8

My Cunningham Expedition uses a 27 inch front wheel and a 700c rear wheel. Fortunately, Panaracer makes a nice 27 inch tire, but I was still happy to find these period correct Hi-Lites to replace the crusty ones which are currently on the bike.

Wow, I never knew Michelin made this size. Let me know if you find any more of these :-)

From what I've seen, most tyres that claim to be 27 x 1-3/8" are lucky to be 1-1/4". But about 20 years ago here were some Panaracers that were the real deal.

When I see old 10-speeds I think how good it would be to have 1-3/8" or even 1-1/2" tyres available to convert them to more comfortable utility bikes. From what I've seen, a lot of them had sufficient clearance.
