Campagnolo Record OR goodies

Slow day on ebay netted me some Campagnolo Record OR goodies. In my mind it was a mixed group, I didn't really like the shifters or rear derailleur, but loved the crank and hubs. So, I jumped on these!

Look Equipe 753 - Bernard Hinault

Ooh, ooh. Very excited about this bike. There were 500 made, which is not as few as it sounds. When it was built, 753 was the sine qua non for steel. And of course, the Badger is the perfect racer. I like almost everything about this (what I don't like are the pedals and saddle). Whoever built it up was very thoughtful. Mavic SSC derailleurs, Campagnolo C Record hubs, headset, seatpost, cranks/bb and retrofriction levers, Mavic SSC rims. Oooh, I can't wait to ride it!

And of course the Badger...

Mavic track nuts

I have a set of Mavic track hubs on my Nagasawa keirin-sha. The nuts were a little scuffed up, and these were relatively cheap, so why not!

32T 74BCD Specialized chainring

I have not previously seen such a large granny gear. My plan is to one day use it as part of a 2x7/8 shifting setup. Put a 42 big ring and be off to the races.

Gold Ukai cruiser rims

I am building up a bling Breezer Series II. The story is the original owner rode the bike hard, leading to a crash and a cracked down tube. The frame was sent back to Joe hisself for repairs and 8 or 9 years later, it returned. Since it is hard on the metal, Joe recommended, and the original buyer agreed to, painting the bike. So the golden Series II was born. Between 1980 and 1982 when the Series II bikes (all 30 of them) were sold, typical color schemes were blue accessories (cables and anno) or gold. So with a shiny golden Series II, I am redoing the bike in gold. These wheels will be cut down and laced up with a "Good" condition set of Phil Wood steel three-piece hubs. One day I will build up a fantastic NOS set with NOS hubs and Ukai rims. For now, these'll do.
